1.Save one's breath（keep one’s breath）
这个看似是让人节约呼吸的短语，其实意思是不必白费口舌了。
例：What you are saying will not make any difference to me，so you may as well save your breath.
你所说的对我不会产生任何作用，所以你最好是免开尊口。
Save your breath．There is no chance that he will agree．
省点力气吧，他是决不可能同意的
2. Cut it out
碰上招人厌烦的人和事，都可以拿出来用。
例: I’m sick of that joke; Cut it out, can’t you?
这笑话我听得够了，省省吧，行不？
Cut it out；Quit that!
少来这一套。
3. Give me a break
这个短语有点求放过的意思，字面意思是说让我歇歇吧，其实就是说“你太烦了，我受够了”。
例：Give me a break, you guys! That’s enough of your bickering.
饶了我吧，各位！你们这没完没了的吵实在是听不下去了！
“I’m a real intellectual guy, Tracy,”James joked.
“Oh, give me a break,”Tracy moaned.

4. Dry up（非正式英语）
这个词和shut up 就是一个意思，都是让人闭嘴的意思，所以我们说起来的时候要慎用啊！
例: Oh, dry up! I’m sick of hearing what you have to say.
住嘴吧！你想说的那些都快烦死我了。
Dry up, go with your bag.
住口，拿着你的包走吧。
5. Put a lid on something（美式英语）
“闭嘴，不要说了，安静下来。”
例：If he does, you can give me a call and I’ll come over and tell him to put a lid on it.
那人要是再来找麻烦的话，你就打电话给我，我来让他闭嘴。
Would you please put a lid on all that chatter, I’m trying to work.
可不可以请你不要讲话了，我正在努力工作。
6. Shut your face
表面是关闭您的面孔，但在口语中有住口的意思，就是说“别在表现了,停止吧。”
例：Oh, shut your face; you're always moaning about something.
哦，住口；你老是滴滴咕咕没完没了。
How the hell do I know? Just shut your face and be glad you're still alive.
我怎么知道？你给我闭嘴，你应该对你还活着感到高兴
7. Simmer down
Ok，children. I need you all to simmer down and listen to Jason’s story.
好的，孩子们，现在我需要你们安静下来听杰森的故事。
注：这句话并不粗鲁，也没有冒犯的意思，只是用在非正式场合。
8. Pipe down
“Come on，everyone. Pipe down or else you will all get detention！”
“所有人安静，否则留堂处分！”
9. Button it
“Button it，ok. I’m trying to think！”
“闭嘴好吗，我在思考呢！”
10. Put a sock in it （英式英语）
I’ve had enough of your moaning for one day. Why don’t you put a sock in it？
这一天我都在听你抱怨，安静一点行不行啊！
注：有时候你也会听到“put a cork in it”，意思是一样的。
11. Cork it
“Shhh，cork it and listen to him”.
“嘘，别说了，好好听他说。”
注：“put a cork in it”更常用。
12. Shut your pie hole/Shut your cake hole
“Just shut your pie hole，man.”
“闭上你的嘴！”
注：这句是《阿凡达》的台词哦！
有人说pie hole 多用于美式口语，其实现在pie hole，cake hole在英式美式中都很广泛应用，比如典型的英式电影《帕丁顿熊》里的老奶奶就是用“Shut your pie hole ”，老师也更喜欢用pie hole哦，这个说起来比cake hole 更口语化。
13. Zip your lips/Zip it！
I’ve heard enough of your nonsense，mate. Now zip it！
哥们，你说的废话我都听够了，现在可以闭嘴了吧！
14. Wind your neck in
“Why don’t you just wind your neck in for once and listen to what I have to say？”
“为什么你就不能闭嘴好好听我说呢？"
