　　feeling “感觉”、“情感”一般用词，指外界对心理上产生的各种情感，如喜、怒、哀、乐：也可表示生理上的感觉，如疼痛、冷热等。。

　　1) She experienced a genuine feeling of happiness when she was with her family.

　　（当她与家人在一起的时候，她享有一种真切的幸福感。）

　　2) When he woke up, he had a feeling of pain in his right foot.

　　(当他醒来时,他感觉他的右脚疼痛。)

　　emotion “情感”、“情绪”，“感情”，指精神上和心理上受到某种刺激产生的较强烈各种情感。

　　1) His speech about his miserable sufferings has a great impact on our emotions.

　　(他那段悲惨遭遇的讲话对我们的情绪冲击很大。)

　　2) The music aroused very complicated emotions in her.

　　（音乐唤起了她极其复杂的感情。）

　　affection

　　passion

　　passion “激情”“冲动”，指强烈或难以控制的情绪或热情，特别是爱和冲动的情感。

　　1) He expressed in the poem his burning passion for the woman he loved at first sight.

　　（他在这首诗中表达了他对那位他一见钟情的女子的火一般的激情。）

　　2) I don’t want to see your passion come and go so easily.

　　（我不想看到你的热情来得快去得快。）

　　affection “慈爱”、“深情”，指对人或物有很深的情感。

　　3) Generally speaking, most people have a great affection for the place where they grew up.

　　(一般来说,大多数人对从小长大的地方有很深的感情。)

　　4) Old Thomason retained a deep and tender affection for his wife to the end of his life.

　　（老汤姆森至死对他的妻子怀有绵绵深情。）

　　sensation

　　sentiment

　　sensation “感觉”，指人体感官受到外部刺激时产生的感觉和知觉，用法与feeling相似。

　　1) She was seized with a sensation of terror when she found that there was nobody around.

　　(当她发现她周围一个人都没有时，一种恐惧感袭上心头。)

　　2）Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear.

　　（然后我感到了一种熟悉的牵力,一种对着我的耳朵吸的感觉。）

　　sentiment “情绪”、“情感”，多指怜悯、悲伤、怀旧、爱慕等情感。用法与emotion相似。

　　1) The sentiment of pity is made up of the feeling of sympathy and of a desire to give protection.

　　（怜悯感是由同情加上给予保护的愿望一起组成的。）

　　2) Love is not only a sentiment but also an art.

　　（爱不仅仅是一种情感,也是一门艺术。）

　　sensation

　　sensational

　　sensation 还可表示“轰动”，的意思，指对人们中产生极为强烈的情感反应。其形容词sensational有“耸人听闻的”、“激动人心的”、“使人感动的”意思。

　　1) Some journalists often overstate the situation so that their news may create a great sensation.

　　（一些新闻记者经常夸大情况,目的是让他们的新闻能产生轰动效应。）

　　2) The news of the terrible murder taking place in the daylight was sensational in the small town.

　　（在光天化日发生可怕谋杀案的消息在这个小镇耸人听闻的。)

　　3) It never occurred to them that their performance became so sensational among the audience.

　　（他们从来没想到他们的演出会在观众引起如此大的轰动。）
