ascribe、 owe、attribute、credit的区别

　　attribute

　　ascribe 

　　这两个动词都可表示“把……归因于”、“把……归咎于”。ascribe 指凭猜想推断，强调主观臆断；attribute 指所作的推断比ascribe 确定。常用结构是：

　　attribute/ ascribe ………to

　　be attributed / ascribed to ……

　　1) The teacher attributes the student’s poor comprehension to the lack of intelligence.

　　（老师将学生的理解差归咎于缺乏智力。）

　　2) It is generally agreed that fluctuations in birth rate are attributed to a number of economic factors.

　　（人们普遍认为出生率的波动归因于许多经济因素。）

　　3) It is wrong to ascribe all that have happened to the manager’s fault.

　　（把发生的一切都归因于是经理的错是错误的。）

　　4) When users discover that his data has been divulged, they often ascribe it to the invision of hackers or trojans.

　　(当用户发现他们资料被泄露，他们往往把它归咎于黑客或木马的入侵。)

　　credit

　　这两个动词用于“把……归功于”，常接success、victory等褒义词，不用被动结构。常用结构是：owe / credit ……to ……

　　1) Some of the most important concepts in physics owe/credit their success to these mathematical systems.

　　（物理学中的一些重要的概念都归功于这些数学体系的成功。）

　　2）I owe it to your guidance that I have achieved so great success in my research work.

　　（我的研究工作取得如此巨大的成功要归功于你指导。）
