考研英语词汇辨析（76）conceive、 devise 、design的区别

 　　conceive “设想”、“想出”。正式用词, 用作及物动词，指设想出某个主意、计划、方案或规划等。常表示经过细致考虑后形成的想法，并可能带有一定的独创性。

　　1) Who conceived the idea of filling bags with gas to make balloons?

　　（是谁第一个想出用气体装袋制作气球?）

　　2) With the help of the computer, they are able to conceive a new blueprint of the city in the near future.

　　（计算机的帮助下,他们能构想城市未来的新蓝图。）

　　devise “设想”、“设计”，指设想、设计出具体的计划、方案、方法等。

　　2）The manufacturers have to devise new strategies to contend against rivals in the market.

　　（生产制造商必须想出新的策略在市场与对手竞争。）

　　design “设计”、“设想”，多指在技术和艺术领域的创作设计.
