War is evil, hated by common people. So the man who acts accord with the principle of Tao will not employ it.

The sage uses the arm cautiously and calmly till it's no alternative. He won't be high-blown even in victory. The man who indulges in war and victory is bloodthirsty. The bloodthirsty one can not achieve his ambition in the world.

To join the battle in funeral rite because the war will kills multitudes of men. The victor in battle has his place rightly in truth.

Tao is inexpressible and unvarnished forever. There is nothing can disobey and disengage its rule although the Tao is sightless. The emperor who manages the state according to Tao’s rules would make all people submit themselves to him.

Heaven and Earth under its guidance unite together and send down the sweet dew, which, without the directions of men, reaches equally everywhere.

All things (includes human) has his own role and value as soon as he was brought to this metagalaxy. When he once has that role and value, he should know to act as the standard of his own role according to the Tao’s rules in order to implement his value. Then, he be free from all risk of failure and error.

The relation of the Tao to all the world is like that of the great oceans to the rivers and streams from the valleys.

He who knows other men is discerning; he who knows himself is advisable.

He who overcomes others is strong; he who overcomes himself is doughty.

He who is satisfied with his lot is rich.

He who goes on acting with energy has a firm will.

He who does lose his duty and groundwork continues long.

He who dies yet his spirit remains has longevity.

All-pervading is the Great Tao! It may be found on the left hand and on the right.

All things depend on Tao for their production, which it gives to them, no one is exceptive. Tao never takes credit to itself as the greatest creator.

Tao uprears universe and makes no assumption of being their lord, how modest it is; all things submit to it and act according to its rules, but, Tao makes no assumption of being their lord either. How great it is.

Because to the end it does not claim greatness, its greatness is achieved.

To him who holds in his hands the Great Image of the invisible Tao, the whole world repairs. The common people resort to him, and receive no hurt to each other, but rest, peace, and the feeling of ease.

Music and dainties will make the passing guest stop his steps for a time. Though the Tao seems insipid and has no flavor, invisible and inaudible, the use of it is inexhaustible.
